Users in the UrsaLeo cloud platform have two distinct roles - admin and invited user.
Understanding how these roles interact will help you utilize the platform to its fullest – sharing data and responsibilities with other users.
- set up an engine
- register devices to the engine
- manage billing
- invite and remove users
- set sensor preferences in the Dashboard
As mentioned, admins can invite other users to view data on their engines. Invited users can only view the data the engine is receiving, but cannot perform other functions as noted above unless they are granted admin level access by the engine's existing admin.
Admins can edit the list of users that have access to their engine using the Users page shown in figure 1, below. This page is not available to invited users.

Using the INVITE USER button, you can invite someone to view your engine's data. Simply type in their email address into the popup and they will receive an email invitation to set up their account.
From the Users tab, you can upgrade an invited user to admin by clicking Make Admin next to the user's name in the table. This will upgrade the regular invited user to an admin, allowing that user to set preferences and invite other users to the engine. Use caution when upgrading users as they can make sweeping changes to your engine.
To disable user access to an engine, click the Revoke Access button to switch on and off server access. This turns off access for the user regardless of admin status.
